Maria Cristina Bellucci - Italy

I am in constant search for harmony in my life and in what I do. I feel a great need to bring out this harmony from within and this is a great motivation in my work. Materials are an important starting point in my creative process. I am both attracted and fascinated by them, resulting in an approach that is unrational and emotional. In the working process, I usually prefer to interact with the material instinctively. The material I use leads me to unexpected results and this is what fascinates me most. I'm interested in the surface created by coloured pencils, the main element of my latest work. To me it's fun to change the concept of everyday objects, by taking them away from their context, deconstructing and transforming them into a piece of jewellery, gaining a totally new meaning. My goal is to obtain simplicity and to communicate joy and positive emotions.
